The Cardinal of Denial: Take Two

The Beam In Thine Own Eye...

A while back, you may recall that I wrote about Cardinal Raymond Burke (https://theleftcrisis.blogspot.com/2021/09/death-doesnt-come-for-cardinal.html). Burke is a Catholic Cardinal as well as arch traditionalist. He has been a diehard foe of Pope Francis (way too liberal for Burke’s taste) and, for a time, even seemed to be trying to set up some kind of alliance with Steve Bannon in an attempt to remove Francis from office. (It didn’t work out. Obviously. And the Burke/Bannon double act broke up acrimoniously.)

Oh, and one other thing. Burke was anti-vaccine, regarded masking as ridiculous, and refused to obey the various disease prevention mandates of Italy and the United States.

And, of course, Burke caught Covid and darn near died of it.

Fortunately ( I guess) he didn’t meet his maker and he is now out of the hospital. However, according to a recent article in the National Catholic Reporter, his recovery is slow and he definitely isn’t out of the woods yet.

Well, it’s a good thing he didn’t die. Yet…you do wonder. When will the people who are so eager to reject medical science realize that their God, or whoever, will not protect them from the consequences of their own stupidity?

Or…will it always be that Darwin, rather than the saints, will ultimately triumph.

For good, or bad, or indifferent?
