Liz Cheney Set Free

 


Like she cares what those idiots think.


So I read in the news that Wyoming’s rather pathetic GOP has announced that it will no longer recognize Liz Cheney as a Republican. The reason? Because she criticized Trump and otherwise hasn’t been an obnoxious Fascist Toady.


In a word, whoa.


I’m sure that Ms. Cheney could give a flying you-know-what about the feelings of Wyoming’s GOP. Though, I’m also sure it saddens her. Her father, Dick Cheney was not one of my favorite human beings, but he was a dedicated Republican who did his best to promote conservative values while in the House and then in the Bush administration. For his party to now castigate his daughter for the “crime” of integrity is rather tragic, and says much about how far the GOP has descended into the muck.


Still, Liz Cheney may find her rejection by her Party rather flattering. It must be sort of like getting kicked out of the confederacy of dunces for the crime of bringing an unwelcome level of intelligence to the assembly.

Very powerful piece over on Vice that everyone should read, " Christian Nationalism Drove These People Out of Their Churches " by Tess Owen. In it, Owen looks at how Christian Nationalism...an ideology which is surely a contradiction in terms...has begun to overwhelm churches across the country. The idea that Jesus, who preached against such things, should be used to support racism, nationalism, and dictatorship is, of course, grotesque. Communists Sue Putin

  Say what?   The Communist Party of Russia …remember them? Used to be big in the totalitarian business…has sued Putin and his pals for rigging the recent elections in that country. They’ve even joined with the Putin’s various other critics in launching a legal campaign to get the elections overturned.(*) In a word, Whoa. The elections were, obviously, completely crooked. But there is something a bit stunning about the fact that the Russian Communists would actually find the spine (and the will) to say so.
